What is the Community Infrastructure Levy?

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a fee payable by a property owner to fund local infrastructure required to meet the future needs of your community.

For example, new infrastructure could be a sporting facility or a public library.

Every new home in the Melton City Council area pays the CIL and it is the responsibility of the property owner to pay the levy.

At Accolade this is a one-off payment of $1150 that needs to be paid before you receive your building permit.

The payment is specified in the Victorian Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Building Act 1993
